WHERE IS UPPER SELETAR RESERVOIR PARK

Upper Seletar Reservoir Park is located in the northern part of Singapore, specifically in Mandai area. The park is also situated beside the Mandai Executive Public Golf Course. The park reservoir is part of the Central Water Catchment area of Singapore which is bounded by other reservoirs; MacRitchie Reservoir, Lower Peirce Reservoir, and Upper Peirce Reservoir. It is surrounded by lush forested areas and is a tranquil destination for nature lovers.

HOW TO GO UPPER SELETAR RESERVOIR PARK

To get to Upper Seletar Reservoir Park, visitor can take both public transport and private transport. Here’s how to get there:

1: MRT + Bus
Take the MRT by heading to the nearest station – Khatib MRT Station (North-South Line). Alight at Khatib MRT, and take Bus 138 from the bus stop near the MRT station. The bus will pass-by Upper Seletar Reservoir Park and will take about 20 minutes journey.

2: Taxi
If you prefer a quicker and more direct option from Khatib MRT Station, you can also take a taxi to the park. The taxi ride will be about 10–15 minutes, inform the taxi driver to head to Mandai Road Track 7.

3. Car
Upper Seletar Reservoir Park is located at Mandai Road, visitors coming from the city are, head towards Seletar Expressway and continue to Mandai road.

History Of Upper Seletar Reservoir

It was back in 1920 where this reservoir was built to meet the surge in demand for water in Singapore. The reservoir was officially opened by Her Royal Highness-Princess Alexandra in 1969. It was then known as Seletar Reservoir, and in 1986 an adjacent reservoir – Sungei Seletar Reservoir was also open. By 1992 the two reservoirs were renamed Upper Seletar Reservoir and Lower Seletar Reservoir respectively.

The car park at Upper Seletar Reservoir Park is a free, which is conveniently located close to the entrance of the park. The designated car park near the entrance of Upper Seletar Reservoir Park offers visitors to park vehicles.  The are three (3) parking spaces within the park and all parking spaces are FREE.

There are two (2) designated toilets inside the park, one is located near Car park B. The other toilet is near the reservoir along with Car park C. Toilet near the Car Park C, with a drinking water station.

Having been able to visit the park, we must say that it is a peaceful location with great views out over the reservoir. A park is a perfect place for visitors who want to get away from the busy city life. Here visitors can find fresh air and a relaxing experience while walking in the park and sitting on the bench. While the park is relatively small, it is still worth visiting. Climbing through the tower and taking a snapshot of the Casuarina tree are the best things to do. It is recommended to visit in the early morning or late afternoon to catch a glimpse of sunrise and sunset. This park has a park connector that leads to Springleaf Nature Park and Lower Seletar Reservoir Park. If you have not been here, take time to visit the park and enjoy the scenery.
