White Island Camiguin is located in the middle of the ocean which is 15 minutes boat ride from the shore of Yumbing. Yumbing is one of the barangay in the municipality of Mambajao, Camiguin.

Getting to White Island in Camiguin is quite accessible where it requires a small boat (pumpboat) to carry passengers to the island. The boat terminal is located 250 meters from the main road of Yumbing and also just beside the Paras Beach Resort. The small boat can only carry a maximum of four (4) passengers with a two-way fare of PHP 450 per passenger. Discounts will be given to children and senior citizens.

White Island Camiguin ferry terminals are located just off the shore, where visitors will need to secure their tickets. Once the ticket has been purchased, they will be assigned a boat where passengers can ride. When riding on the pump boat, all passengers are required to wear a life vest.

#1 EXPLORE THE SAND BAR

The long stretch of sand bar in White Island the sometimes for C-shaped offers great relaxing for view for all visitors. There are two side of sand bar; the enclosed area of the sand bar offers great place for swimming since the water is shallow. The other side are great for snorkeling, where corals and fish are abundant, but the water current is bit strong.

There are live Sea Urchins for sale on the island, where visitors can try to eat raw. Locals will cut the sea urchin in half and the contents are sometimes mixed with vinegar to add flavor. Sea Urchins are at PHP 50 per piece.

There are no huts, trees, or sheltered areas on the island except for the rental umbrella. Rentals of umbrella are at PHP 200 which includes the beach mat where the locals will prepare.

  • Bringing of own food is allowed into the island-but visitors are advised to bring back food waste after leaving the island.
  • Wear light and lose clothing like fabrics rich in cotton which help your body feel comfortable.
  • Bring and apply sunscreen, the weather can be considerably hot so don’t forget your sunglasses or cap.

The best time to explore the island is in the early morning, this way the heat of the sun is not that harsh. Since the island doesn’t have enough shelter, heading late in the morning or noon will most likely get some suntan.
