All other applications like Diplomatic or Official Visas and Re-entry Permit Extension will need to be submitted physically at the Embassy of Japan in Singapore. 1. Valid Philippine Passport

2. Visa Application Form

The Japan Tourist Visa application form is available on the Embassy of Japan in Singapore website, Here is the sample Japan Visa Application form for reference.

  • Fill out the official Japan visa application form completely and accurately
  • Form must be completed (fill in ‘N/A’ where appropriate)
  • Sign the form where required
  • Any incorrect or missing information may delay processing

3. Photograph

Most of the photo/studio shops have the idea on the photo size for Japan visa. But just in the case below are the detailed requirement for the Japan photo visa.

  • A recent color photo was taken within 6 months
  • Photo size must be 4.5 cm x 4.5 cm 
  • The photo must be in full-faced, front-facing with white/light background (It should be unedited and no shadow on the background)
  • Print out using A4 paper is not acceptable.

4. Identity card issued by Singapore Government

Front and back digital copy of identity card such as;

  • Singapore PR
  • Employment Pass,
  • S Pass,
  • Work Permit,
  • Dependent Pass or Long-Term Visit Pass.

The validity of the pass should cover the trip to Japan and return to Singapore. Individuals who are in the process of renewing work pass, please submit copy of IPA (In-principle approval) letter issued by Singapore government.

5. SG WorkPass Mobile App

Download and install the SG WorkPass Mobile app from Google Play or Apple Store. Search for your ID and once retrieve print it with the latest pass information.

  • Print out a copy of SG Work pass which displays the latest pass information
  • Make sure to print this information only within 5 days before plan your application date to Japan Embassy.

6. Certificate Of Employement

Obtain a copy of the certificate of employment from your company. Contact your HR and request a copy of the certificate. Certification of Employment Letter issued by employer must contain the below information.

  • Issuance Date
  • Company Letterhead (Company Name, Address and Contact Number)
  • Salary
  • Job Position
  • Join Date
  • Travel Dates
  • Company’s representative signature and title.

7. Previous Japan Visa(s) Record

  • Shows Japanese temporary visitor visa and entry stamps in the last 3 years
  • Shows temporary visitor visa(s) and entry stamps of G7 countries twice or more in the last 3 years

8. Income Tax Assessment or Bank Statement

Provide evidence that you can financially support your trip with either on the below requirement.

  • Bank statements (Latest two (2) months showing the account holder’s name, current balance and banking transaction history)
  • Income Tax Notice of Assessment issued by IRAS Singapore

After completing the visa requirements/checklist, the next step is to book an appointment for visa submission. As of 15 October 2025 Submission and Collection of Visa Application are handled by VFS Global (3rd-party)

Step 3. Choose The Available Schedule

Find for available date and time schedule, then select and choose to confirm appointment.

Step 4. Pay VFS Service Fee

To confirm your appointment slot, applicant will be required to pay the VFS service fee online. Please keep the credit card/ debit card or mobile payment outlet handy while booking an appointment.

  • For Philippine Nationals: Single or Multiple Entry Fee is FREE (Gratis)
  • For applications submitted at the JVAC, additional handling fee of S$ 22.00 is necessary for processing the application.

Step 4: Submit Visa Application

Submit the required documents and all supporting documents at Japan Visa Application Centre. Incomplete forms or incorrect documentation will result in not accepting the application, and are required to book a new appointment.
