A. Required Documents from the Applicant

When applying for a South Korea tourist visa as a housewife in the Philippines, applicant must submit the required documents to support your application. Even if your trip is sponsored by your spouse or another family member, applicant are still responsible for providing your personal documents along with any additional requirements requested by the accredited travel agency or the Embassy of South Korea.

A1. South Korea TOURIST VISA APPLICATION FORM

South Korea Visa application form is available on the Korea Visa Application Center. Once you have downloaded the form, fill-up all the required information in block letter, and enter N/A to information where it is not applicable.

My partner will be sponsoring this travel, so I have entered all his necessary information under the Funding Details section. After you have completed all necessary information, print and sign the application form. By the way here is the sample form that I have created for South Korea tourist visa application.

A2. Passport Sized Colored Photo

Visit to any nearest photo studio and inform that you want to obtain a South Korea visa photo. Since most of the photo/studio shops have the idea on the photo size for South Korea visa. Just in case below are the detailed requirement for the South Korea photo visa.

A recent color photo taken within six (6) months
Facial photo size must be 35mm x 45mm
Taken in front of a plain white or off-white background
Taken in full-face view directly facing the camera
Do not wear a hat or head covering that obscures the hair or hairline

A3. Valid Philippine PASSPORT

The first requirement for South Korea visa application is the Philippine passport, I have written below the basic criteria for the Philippine passport;

Philippine Passport must have at least six (6) months validity prior to the intended departure date.
Philippine passport should have two (2) blank pages for the purpose of the visa to be stick once approved

A4. Original and Photocopy of Valid Visa's To OECD Member Countries (If Applicable)

In the event you have visited the above list of OECD member countries, please provide the original and photocopy of valid visa’s and arrival stamps to OECD member countries for the past 5 years.

A5. Original PSA Birth and Marriage Certificatee

Visit to the nearest PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority) to obtain the latest copy of your Birth and Marriage Certificate. Below are the necessary requirement for the PSA certificate.

Both Birth and Marriage certificate must be taken within one (1) year upon the visa application.

Obtaining a copy of PSA Birth and Marriage certificate be usually cost at ₱340 per copy respectively. Please check on this guide on how to obtain PSA copy for Birth Certificate.

A6. Personal Bank Certificate

Personal bank certificate must include account name, account number, account type, current balance, account opening date, and 6 months average balance (ADB). Bank certificate can be obtain from your local Philippine bank’s (BPI, BDO, Security Bank etc) For me, I went to visit BDO branch to request a copy of Bank Certificate, then inform the customer service on the purpose which will be for my South Korea tourist visa application. Do not forget to bring copy of your passbook /ATM and a valid ID to verify your identify. For BDO accounts, Bank Certificate can only be obtain to Branch where you have open your BDO account. Also take note that there will be ₱150 charge upon this request.

B. Required Documents from the Sponsor (Spouse)

If you are a housewife with no regular source of income, your spouse may sponsor your trip to South Korea. The sponsor must provide documents that demonstrate their financial capacity and, when applicable, their relationship to you.

B1. Guarantee Letter

B2. Spouse Bank Certificate

The spouse bank certificate should show the account name, account number, account type, current balance, account opening date and 6 months average balance (ADB).

B3. If Spouse Is Employed (Employment Certificate and Income Tax Return)

The spouse Employment Certificate must indicate spouse position, date hired, compensation, office address, HR landline number(cell-phone number is not allowed) and HR e-mail address]
The spouse Income tax certificate must be the latest Income Tax statement issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). The income tax return commonly known as Form 2316,

B3. If Spouse Is Self-Employed

If spouse is self-employed, must show proof Business Registration from SEC or DTI (Copy), Business Permit or Mayor’s Permit(Copy), Photocopy of ITR (Income Tax Return) or Form 2316.
