WHERE IS PERDANA BOTANICAL GARDEN

Perdana Botanical Garden is situated around the area of Jalan Parlimen, Jalan Damansara, and Jalan Kinabalu. The park is also in Kuala Lumpur’s city center right next to the National Mosque of Malaysia and National Monument where it operates from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM (Daily).

HOW TO GO PERDANA BOTANICAL GARDEN

For visitors taking public transport, Perdana Botanical Garden has two (2) nearby train stations namely Muzium Negara (Kajang Line) and Kuala Lumpur (KTM). From here, visitors will need to walk for about 10-15 mins toward the entrance of the park.

Perdana Botanical Garden

Perdana Botanical Garden, formerly known as Taman Tasik Perdana or Lake Gardens, was built in the late 1880s during the British colonial period in Malaysia. The garden is situated city center of Kuala Lumpur which was initially intended as a garden with a collection of tropical plants. As time passes by, the area has been rehabilitated and later turned into a Botanical Garden which opens to the public for display. Perdana Botanical Garden has become a great place to escape for family and friends away from the bustling metropolis of Kuala Lumpur.

#1 PLAY WITH THE KIDS AT PLAYGROUND

The park has a spacious space where every child to play around with the different equipment. The playground types of equipment help children to improve motor skills and build energy. There are benches available for parents to sit while watching the kids play. Also, picnic tables are present for families to have fun and enjoy a picnic. It is best to visit early morning or evening as it may get very hot and sunny during the mid-day.

#2 CHECK THE SUNKEN GARDEN

One of the landmarks not to be missed when visiting the park is the Sunken Garden which provides amazing geometry of plants. It was called Sunken Garden since the garden lies below the actual ground level. This circular garden is rich with colored plants that are well designed to provide garden symmetry.

The D’Sun Zone or Canopy located at the main square of the park provides a great place to hang out. The architectural design of the canopy and the golden color create well blend ambiance with nature. Here visitors can perform various activities like cycling, walking, and just sitting on the side while enjoying the day out.

#5 EXPLORE THE BAMBOO PLAYHOUSE

Bamboo Playhouse Perdana Botanical Garden

Bamboo Playhouse is all made up of bamboo equipment where children can play. There are also different activities for children to explore and have fun around. The playhouse is located right in the middle of the park next to Heliconia Garden and the D’Sun Zone area.

#6 HAVE A LOOK AT DEER PARK

Taman Rusa Perdana Botanical Garden

One of the interesting places to visit within Taman Botani Perdana is Deer Park (Taman Rusa). As the name suggests, the deer park contains several deer residing in the park. The entrance is FREE, but visitors may find it difficult to navigate the location of the deer, along the way there are kampung chicken houses on the cage.

#7 ENTER THE KL BIRD PARK AVIARY

KL Bird Park Malaysia

Located right next to Perdana Botanical Garden is the KL Bird Park, widely known as the largest open aviary in the world. The open-air concept provides the birds to freely roam around and visitors can easily interact with them. Visitors will find different interesting species of birds like horn-bills, peacocks, flamingos, storks, parrots, etc. KL Bird Park entrance fee; Adult (RM75) | Children (RM50) with opening hours from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Daily).
