Paiyun Lodge Advance Application for Foreigners

  1. Open 4 months to 35 days before your intended hike date. The earlier the application submit the better, to secure the spot.
  2. Available only from Sunday to Thursday nights at Paiyun Lodge.
  3. There are only 24 slots allotted per day, The first 24 slots exclusively for foreign visitors will be process in order. If these 24 slots are taken, the remaining slots will join the lottery as standard application.
  4. Advance Application is Free of Charge (FOC).

What is Paiyun Lodge

Paiyun Lodge At Mount Yushan

The primary accommodation for hikers attempting to summit Yushan (Jade Mountain). The lodge offers basic amenities such as bunk beds, open lockers, toilets and limited charging outlets which can accommodate up to 116 hikers.

Choose Apply For Park Permit, and select Yushan National Park Headquarters.

#3 Choose Yushan Recommended Trail

Find under Yushan Trail the 2 Days(Tataka-Yushan Trails-Tataka)(Paiyun Lodge Advance Application) and click Apply.

#4 Read and Agree the National Park Regulations

Set default selection for Police Department Mountain Pass Application and click Next.

#6 Enter Personal Information

Fill up the required personal detail information for the Applicant/Leader, Team Member'(s) and Emergency Contact which includes;

  • Name
  • Phone Number
  • Cell Number
  • Email Address
  • Passport Number
  • Gender
  • Date of Birth
  • Emergency Contact
  • Emergency Phone Number

It is required to upload the foreign applicants passports when submitting the application., otherwise the reservations will not be granted. The passport information should be the same as the ones used for application.

#7 Submit Application

Submit the application by entering Verification Code.

After Submission

  1. Once submitted the application, a confirmation email from the system indicating that application has been received with reference application number.
  2. After few days, applicant will received another email notification that the application is confirmed.

Paiyun Lodge Lottery Procedure

The lottery for Paiyun Lodge is conducted one (1) month prior to the intended park entry. The result of the lottery will be announced and team that get the slot will receive an e-mail notification. As long as the applicant'(s) submitted early and are under the 24 allocated slots, it will guarantee to have a slot for Paiyun Lodge.

Paiyun Lodge Lodging Fee

  • Lodging fee for Paiyun Lodge is NT$480 per person per night.
  • Payment can be made via bank transfer under Taiwan bank or in cash upon arrival.
  • Sleeping Bag Rental of NT$300 ensures appropriate bedding, and comfort for the cold mountain environment.
  • The lodge provides basic facilities, which include hot drinking water.
    It is advisable to bring essentials like toilet paper, earplugs, and a sleeping pad for added comfort.

Paiyun Lodge Meals

Meals At Paiyun Lodge Yushan Hike Application

Applicants are required to submit the Pre-Order Meals in advance which is 7 days prior stay on the lodge. Paiyun Lodge serve standard meals which include:

  • Breakfast: NT$150
  • Lunch: NT$300
  • Dinner: NT$300

Mountain Entry Permit

After securing the Yushan Park Entry Permit, applicants are also required to submit Mountain Entry Permit (Police Permit). This permit is issued by the local police, which is needed for entry into restricted mountain areas.

  • The application is required to be submitted 3 to 124 days prior to the entry date.
  • Fill-up necessary information
    a. Reason Mountain Entry
    b. Destination
    c. Duration of Stay
    d. Number of People
    e. Personal Information (Name, Date of Birth, Passport Number, Address, Telephone, Contact Person and Contact Number.
  • Ensure to have two (2) copies of permits. The permits will be manually submitted at the ranger/police station located Tataka trailhead.
