St John’s island was used to be a quarantine facility back in the 19th century, but after it was rehabilitated the island now become one of the leisure destinations. WHERE IS ST. JOHN'S ISLAND

St John’s Island is located on one of the southern islands in Singapore which are approximately 6.5 km from the main island of Singapore.

HOW TO GO ST JOHN'S ISLAND

Take the North-South MRT line and alight at the Marina South Pier station and take the Exit B towards Marina South Ferry Terminal. At the ferry terminal, purchase a two-way ticket ferry to St John’s island that will cost $15 at the ticket counter. The $15 fare ticket includes the ride to St John’s Island and Kusu Island and the return trip back to Singapore. Visitors can choose from the two (2) ferry operators that cater service to St John Island; Marina South Ferries and Singapore Island Cruises. The earliest ferry to depart from Marina South to St John Island is at 9:00 am, while the latest ferry is at 3:00 pm.

The island amenities include sheltered areas, toilet and changing rooms. The island has some heritage trees, mangroves, together with wildlife animals and birds.

The island offers great outdoor activities which include fishing, cycling, swimming, canoeing or a simple picnic with family or friends. The island also have marine laboratory, aquaculture facility, and lodge for visitors who stay overnight.

Visitors will disembark at the main jetty of the island, and from there they can explore the island by foot, or riding a bicycle.

St John’s Island is connected via causeway to Lazarus Island, in which visitors can enjoy and continue exploring the island. From here visitors can discover Lazarus Island which is known for its crescent-shaped white sand beach.

Visitors who intend to visit Kusu Island can take the ferry at the St John’s jetty, the ferry moves around to Kusu Island. Kusu island offers explores a pristine beach, with temples and shrines as well as a tortoise sanctuary. Please check the ferry schedules to Kusu Island from the ferry operators. visitors can enjoy and continue exploring the island.

There are two (2) toilet and shower facilities located on the island; one is located on top of the hill which is about 250m away from the jetty, while the other one is 400m from the jetty located near the causeway.

  1. There are no stores or foods available on the island, visitors are advised to bring their food.
  2. Potable drinking water is not available, bring at least 1L of water for you to consume within the day.
  3. Bring and apply sunscreen, the weather can be considerably hot so don’t forget to your sunglasses or cap.
  4. Before heading up, buy essentials at the convenience stores located at Marina South Ferry Terminal.
