One of the most high-end countries in Asia and the safest city to travel to Singapore, natively known as Singapura.  Singapore is a sovereign city-state and island country in Southeast Asia. The country is known for its transition from a third world to first world class in a single generation under the leadership of its founding father Lee Kuan Yew. Singapore is also referred to as the Garden City for its tree-lined streets and greening efforts since independence. It is a global hub or all sorts of trade, logistics, education, health, tourism and more. A modernized, beautiful and expensive country.

All visitors to Singapore must hold a passport or a travel document valid for more than 6 months at the time of departure, hold an onward or return ticket, have sufficient funds to stay in Singapore, have entry documents (including a visa) to their next destination, if required, have a completed Disembarkation/Embarkation Card and a visa or a yellow fever vaccination certificate for entry into Singapore (if applicable). If you are coming from the Philippines, there number of international flights that caters between Singapore and Philippines.  These airlines include Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, Airasia, Flyscoot, Jetstar, Cathay Pacific, and as of writing this blog Cebu Pacific is the only airline carrier that offers daily connection service.  Travel time from Philippine to Singapore is around 3 hrs 30 mins to 4 hrs which varies also on which part of the Philippine are located.  Currently there are 5 cities that has direct flights to Singapore, which are  Manila, Clark, Cebu, Iloilo and Davao.
For us we depart from Mactan-Cebu International Airport via Airasia airlines which scheduled depart at 5pm.  We arrive in Changi Airport Terminal 4 at around 9 in the evening.

All year round you can travel to Singapore. The weather is dry and wet but every month there will always be rainfall which can experience in the afternoon or evening. There are two specific monsoon seasons, the northeast monsoon season, from December to the beginning of March, when north-easterly winds prevail, and the southwest monsoon season from June through September, when south-easterly or south-westerly winds blow.

Singapore mode of public transportation are efficient enough for regular a commuter to travel from one place to another in given specified time.  Public transport includes train (MRT-Mass Rapid Transportation), bus, taxi and private hired cars.  Regular fares for both MRT and bus usually start from S$0.77 cents and will vary depends on the distance travel.

Most of the commuter own card (EZ Link) to use for payment by tapping designated points on both entry and exit.  To add value or top up, the commuter will need to use the machine which commonly seen on train station where the mode of payment is either Cash, or Debit Card.  For us owning this piece of card while here in Singapore provide ease of access on all our travel journey. EZ Link card are sold at TransitLink Ticket Offices, which usually costs at $12, out of which $7 is stored value for use.  On the other hand, other EZ Link cards can be purchased at 7-11 shops which usually at $10, out of which $5 is stored value for use.

One of the most popular food markets in Singapore. It located in the commercial and financial area near Raffles city where it was used to be a fishing village and a wet market. Lau Pa Sat is an ideal location for all local cuisine in Singapore, from chicken rice, kaya toast, and satay. There is plenty of food stall to choose from so might as well walk around, check and see first. Dinner is also a good time to visit as satay vendors set up their barbecue pit with tables and chairs outside with all the evening lights. Lau Pa Sat is open 24hrs and food is not that expensive.

Merlion Park

It is the landmark of Singapore which is a mythical creature with a lion’s head and a body of a fish. The body symbolizes Singapore’s humble beginnings as a fishing village when it was called Temasek, meaning ‘sea town’ in Old Javanese. Its head represents Singapore’s original name, Singapura, or ‘lion city’ in Malay. You can definitely see how visible is the history and once you see it, the Merlion’s mouth has a water coming out.

How To Get There
If you are alighting at Raffles MRT Station, take Exit G towards the United Overseas Bank (UOB) Plaza, and walk on the pathway toward Fullerton Hotel. Merlion Park is just behind the hotel.

Marina Bay is one of Singapore tourist spots. The area represents all sorts of stylish structures and luxury. The skyscrapers and architectural design surrounding the area is impressive. There is a beautiful structure fronting the Bay which is the Marina Bay Sands which is a hotel and luxury shopping center. You can shop, dine and stroll inside as most of the time they have events and activities.

How To Get There
If your taking public transport alight at Bayfront MRT Station and take exit C, and heads towards The Shoppes.

Singapore Zoo Entrance

Singapore Zoo is a wildlife park where animals can move freely to their natural habitats. It is the house of mammals, reptiles, birds and a lot of other animals which you can enjoy. Animals are kept in spacious, landscaped enclosures separated from the visitors by dry and wet moats. Dangerous animals that can climb well are housed in landscaped glass-fronted enclosures. The zoo has various rescue and conservation efforts to protect the wildlife. We did not imagine that we can see up close and personal the animals that we have only read in books or TV.

How To Get There
If you are taking public transport, there are 4 MRT (Choa Chu Kang, Woodlands, Ang Mo Kio, and Marsiling) stations that has direct bus service to Singapore Zoo for more details click here.

The Flower Dome observatory has its huge size of more than a football field.  It has been displayed by flowers and plants from the Mediterranean and other parts of the region.  It is a gigantic air-conditioned glass greenhouse offering themed gardens with many exotic plants. There you can see how artistically flowers and plants were arranged.

How To Get There
Alight at Bayfront MRT Station and take exit B, and walk for 5 minutes which leads to the Garden.

Universal Studions in Singapore Globe

Sentosa

Entrance Fee: S$4 (riding Sentosa Express) and S$2 ( walk Sentosa Boardwalk)
Opening Hours: 9:00am-9:00pm (DAILY)

It is a leisure resort and a theme park. Sentosa is an all in one destination from nature, beaches, dining, outdoor activities, hotels, spa, and shopping center. You can hop from one place to another to enjoy different activities.

How To Get There
If you are alighting from Harbourfront MRT station, there are two cheapest ways you can visit Sentosa, which is by foot and riding train.  If you want to explore by foot, take the Sentosa Boardwalk on the other hand ride the train Sentosa Express which is located at Vivo City-Level 3. Singapore is one of the modernized country and a fast pace environment. It is visible in all their structures and tallest buildings. The country is organized and locals are polite to the people around especially to the elders.
