HOW TO APPLY JAPAN TOURIST VISA FOR FILIPINO IN SINGAPORE

Here are the steps on how the Japan Tourist Visa Application for Filipino in Singapore is performed at the Embassy of Japan in Singapore. We will guide you through how to obtain a tourist visa. The office of the Embassy of Japan is located just beside the Philippine Embassy office at Nassim road. All visa applications must be process personally after complying with all the required documents. Japan tourist visa processing fee is FREE, which means you don’t need to pay for the visa application. 1. Japan Tourist Visa Application Form

The Japan Tourist Visa application form is available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website, alternatively, you can also download here. Download and fill-up the form, also likewise print out the form and write all the required information. Please indicate N/A to that information where it is not required or applicable.

2. PHILIPPINE PASSPORT

The second requirement for Japan Tourist Visa Application for Filipino in Singapore is your Philippine passport, I have written below the basic criteria for the Philippine passport;

A. Philippine Passport must have at least 6 months’ validity prior to the intended departure date. But as the rule of the thumb, it is advisable to have at least 1-year validity of passport to increase the chances of having the visa application to be approved. 

B. Also, the Philippine passport should have two(2) blank pages for the purpose of the visa to be stick once approved.

3. PASSPORT SIZE PHOTO

Locate your nearest photo shop and inform me that you want to obtain a Japan visa photo. Most of the photo/studio shops have the idea on the photo size for Japan visa. But just in the case below are the detailed requirement for the Japan photo visa.

A. A recent color photo was taken within 6 months
B. Photo size must be 4.5cm x 4,5cm (1.77in x 1 .77in)
C. The photo must be in full-faced, front-facing with white/light background (It should be unedited and no shadow on the background)
D. Print out using A4 paper is not acceptable.

It is advisable to take the photo on the local photoshop to make sure that the quality and above requirement is met. For more information on the Japan visa photo please check on this website. Once you have obtained the copy of the photo, glue/paste it on the top of the application form.

4. CERTIFICATE OF EMPLOYMENT

Obtain a copy of the certificate of employment from your company. Contact your HR and request a copy of the certificate. Below is the required information that should be present on the certificate of employment Here is the sample template for the certificate of employment.
A.  Issuance Date
B. Company Letterhead (Company Name, Address and Contact Number)
C. Salary
D. Job Position
E. Purpose of Journey
F. Company’s representative signature and title.

5. Bank Statement

The bank statement can be obtained from any of the local Singapore banks (POSB, OCBC, UOB, etc), there are two ways on how to retrieve the bank statement. The most convenient way is to access online banking and obtain the bank statement from the webpage. Look for a statement of account and download a copy of the most recent 3-month record of banking transactions. Alternatively, you can visit the nearest bank and request a copy of the bank statement for the last 3-month period. The printout of the personal savings account must contain the account holder name, current balance, and latest transactions of the month.

6. FLight Booking

Flight booking/reservation issued by the travel agency or online booking must be presented during the application. This round-trip flight booking must contain the passenger’s name, booking number, and flight detail information.
If given that you are departing from the Philippines, a round-trip ticket showing PH-JPN-PH is needed on the application, as well as the round trip ticket of your SG-PH-SG flight booking. This information will ensure that you are going back to SG and will not probably stay in Japan for a long time.
Also to take note that the intended travel date should be within 3 months from the date of the submission/application of via.

7. Identity Card Issued by Singapore Government

There is two (2) requirement to present on the Identity card issued by the Singapore government. Below are the requirements needed to present the application.

A. Print a colored copy for your Singapore IC with the front and back information.
B. Download and install the SG WorkPass Mobile app from Google Play or Apple Store. Search for your ID and once retrieve print it with the latest pass information. Make sure to print this information only within 5 days before plan your application date to Japan Embassy.

SUBMISSION AND COLLECTION

Once you have compiled the required documents for Japan Tourist Visa Application for Philippine Passport in Singapore, visit and submit these documents to Japan Embassy office;

Office Hours: Monday-Friday (8:30am-12:00 and 1:30pm-4:00pm)

The submission of all application are held only in the morning (8:30 am-12:00 pm), I advise coming early to avoid the long queue as there are many applicants on each day. Also, make sure that all documents are arranged in order based on the requirements mentioned above, no paper clips and staples are allowed on the submitted documents. Queue number will be provided and once you are called, the Visa officer will check all the documents submitted. If there are no missing or incomplete documents the Visa officer will inform you of the collection date of your passport.

Once you arrive at the Embassy office, obtain a queue number, and wait for your turn to be called. Once called collect your passport and check if you have approved the visa.       hi, as of 1 April 2024 Single Entry Visa for Tourist application will be through online. While multiple entry will be walk-n or schedule appointment service.
